Feb 23, 2000

Well, I did call her the next day (bet you didn't see THAT one coming).  We talked for a while, and decided that we were actually going to go out and do something, other than each other this time.

We went partying at a friend's house, where I spent most of my waking time.  We had a good time, got a little drunk, you know how it goes.  Eventually, yes, we ended up having sex again.

We started spending a lot of time together, and just got to that point where you know you're 'exclusive' with each other.  You know, there's no more question of whether or not it's there, you just know.  We talked a lot about moving in together, and 3 months later, we did.  Using some of her savings, and my next two paychecks, we got enough together for all the deposits we needed, and rented a little efficiency apartment, which was only big enough for our little bit of furniture, and us.  We both worked, and everything was going smoothly.  Our sex life was unbelievable!  We even had a neighbor lady call the cops on us at one point, thinking that I was beating her!  I've never been so proud of having an officer visit my home!

Well, things started to get pretty tense, and it was hard to make the bills.  She had an attitude that didn't help her actually hold down the jobs she had, when she had one.  I wasn't king of responsibility either, and I was at a loss.  She suggested I sell some things to make ends meet.  After some long and heated fights, I eventually agreed.

I sold a guitar that I had found in the attic of one of my dad's friends.  It was so covered with dust that you couldn't even tell what color it was, most of the coils were rusted tight, and the wiring was shot.  After about 3 weeks of painstaking detailing and rewiring, I was the proud owner of a 1977 Tiesco electric classic.  It's not a rare or expensive guitar, but to me it was the most beautiful thing I had ever worked on.  It was teal, with a chrome plate that held all of the electrical equipment.  It had a whammy bar, and a very close-strung neck, much like a Fender Stratocaster.  The neck was made of a red-tinted wood that I couldn't place, and it contrasted the body so well that it seemed almost too perfect.  It had a matching case and amp, and the entire thing was well worth over $600.  At the behest of the beast, and an empty threat or two, I let my prize go for a meager $300.

Anyways, despite the problems, I had come to a point where I didn't know anything other than the fact that I loved her.  I had completely lost all aspects of my individuality.  I was at her beck and call, and when she suggested moving into a larger, two bedroom apartment, I agreed.  This brought up a major problem, though.  We'd need a roommate.

She suggested an old friend of mine named Chris.  He was a few years older than me, chronologically.  He was, for lack of better words, a little bit of a mess.  He cheated on his wife alot, and wasn't exactly a 'law-abiding citizen'.  Despite my obvious concerns, I played the good little puppy and wagged my tail obediently.

Then, the real problems began.......

To be continued....

As always,

Life is in the air.........
