Today was a day to remember.......

My friend, Mike, finally went to court for the custody battle over his son today.  Things were pretty up in the air, at first.  Nobody really knew how it would end up.

I arrived at the courthouse at about 1:15pm.  There was Mike, all decked out in his fancy duds, grinning from ear to ear.  He told me to go to Heather and Greg's, and wait for him there.  I was confused, but I went.

We were all there, wondering, and waiting.  Then, about 30 mins later, Mike's attorney showed up, to thank everyone personally.  We were all tense as hell, wondering what the outcome had been.  The verdict, she buckled without a fight.

You see, Mike's ex-wife had been seeing a guy or two that she had met through chat lines, and had sent them all nekked pics of herself.  They only had a WebTV, so she had to make a video, and then send the screen captures.  After she'd left, Mike found the tape under the couch, and thought it was only what it always had been.  Their son's baptismal.  Yes, she taped over it with nude pics.

After her attorney found out about this tape, and that Mike still had it, the case was over.  He knew it, she knew it, and so did the judge.  Mike was awarded full custody, with His Ex having to pay $200 a month Child support.  It was a glorious day!

Well, having that said, on with today's writing.....

Well, I'd promised some viewpoints on organized religion and such, and as anyone knows that knows me, I am a man of my word.  Here goes, brace yourself.

Everybody's right.

That's it, I'm serious.  Does anyone really think that God, in its infinite wisdom, would only create one prophet, to speak to the entire world?  That's a pretty tall order, for anyone to fill.

You see, whether it was Christ or Muhammed, or Buddha or whatever, really doesnt' matter.  They all taught pretty much the same message, right?  Behave, have faith, and don't kill.  I've lived a looooong time, and believe me, it's amazing what people can do with faith.  (By the way, I heavily believe in reincarnation, due to the fact that I can -remember- pretty far back.)  I mean, thou will not kill really didn't go very far in the crusades, the inquisition, and every world war that ever happened.

Let's see, do not believe in false prophets.  What would constitute a false prophet?  Someone who preaches against God would be my first guess.  As long as they believe in a higher power, and that there's only one, bam, that's it.  Even Satanists believe in God.  You'd kinda have to, to believe that there's a Satan that was thrown down by God.  Cause and effect, and all.

Now, the ones that really bug me are the Catholics (no offense to anyone).  Now, don't get me wrong, if it works for you, then great.  More power to ya.  But for someone to come up to me, and tell me I'm going to Hell for what I believe, isn't gonna happen.  Isnt' that vanity?  Could've sworn that was one of those little no-no's that the Bible tells us about.  Only ones worse than that are the Witnesses.  They just piss me off, for coming to my friggin home!  I have all the religion I need, especially in my own home.  It's like they're God's personal door to door salesmen.  Gimme a break.

No, I'm not under any denomination of Christianity, Muslim, or anything else.  I'm under my own religion.  My beliefs, There is a God, there were a lot of prophets that preached good messages, and they should all be given due credit.  God will judge me, someday, on what I've done and how I've lived my life.  If God would've wanted me to go to Church, then the earth would have been made with them already here.  God wants me to live, be happy, and not to hurt anyone too badly as I go, and if I do, then try to make amends.  That's it.  Pretty basic, eh?  Better than any Sunday school lesson you'll ever hear, as far as I'm concerned.

In summary, God has my back, when I die.  Until then, it's up to me, and I'm not gonna screw it up for anything, not even Him/Her.

As always,

Life is in the air.........
